Inclement Weather Plan

SCHOOL DELAYS
If schools are operating on a delay, the YMCA Before-School programs will operate on the same delay. For example, if Davie County Schools are operating on a one-hour delay, the YMCA program sites will open at 7:30am instead of 6:30am. **Children must already be enrolled in the Before School Program to receive care on delayed opening days.

EARLY DISMISSALS
If schools are dismissed early due to weather conditions, After-School care will be offered at each of the regular After School sites for up to 3 hours. For example, if schools are released at 12 noon, the After School programs will operate until 3:00pm. If weather conditions worsen, we may call parents to pick up children earlier than the 3 hour time period. **Children must already be enrolled in the After School Program to receive care on early dismissal days.

SCHOOLS CLOSED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
Please watch WXII Channel 12 or go to the “Weather” tab at www.wxii12.com to check for davie family ymca childcare program closings or changes in operating hours.
If possible, our programs continue to operate when schools are closed due to inclement weather. However, program times may vary or sites may close due to the severity of weather, road conditions, and # of children at each site.

If schools are closed and childcare is open, children go to the following sites:
٭Students at WRDavie, Cooleemee, or Mocksville meet at Mocksville
٭Students at Shady Grove, Cornatzer, or Pinebrook meet at Pinebrook

Children need to bring a lunch, drink, and warm outerwear for outdoor play. Fees are as follows: $15 per day per child for Before School participants. After School participants have 5 snow days free. After the 5^th snow day the fee will be $15 per day.
